I decided that I was going to introduce kids to blogging this year at our middle school’ so I began looking for a resource for them to use. I wanted a resource that would have a low learning curve for the students to begin using to create blogs. Class Press was a really good fit for them and me. Students were able to quickly and easily alter their blogs to give it their own flare and post with just one click. The back end of this project seemed to come together great. All posts are routed through me, and there is a content filter already built in to the program to catch any misspellings or bad language. I found that the students had very little trouble figuring out how to create and alter their blogs. Now I am entering into the next phase of the process getting them to respond to prompted topics each week. At this point students are still a little unsure about the whole process, but hopefully they will begin to post better responses in the coming weeks. This is an easy to use resource that is well worth the $29.95 a year fee required to use their service.
